Connecting to an Amazon DynamoDB database

Use the following procedure to connect to your Amazon DynamoDB database.

  1. Click the New icon in the Project panel at the top left corner of the window

  2. Select DynamoDB in the Platform drop-down list at the top of the dialog box.

  3. Select the Standard option in the Mode drop-down list if you would like to connect to Amazon DynamoDB database in the standard mode.

    • Select the Region endpoint in the drop-down list. You can select one of the following options:

      • US East (Virginia) (us-east-1)

      • US East (Ohio) (us-east-2)

      • US West (N. California) (us-west-1)

      • US West (Oregon) (us-west-2)

      • EU West (Ireland) (eu-west-1)

      • EU West (London) (eu-west-2)

      • EU West (Paris) (eu-west-3)

      • EU Central (Frankfurt) (eu-central-1)

      • Asia Pacific (Tokyo) (ap-northeast-1)

      • Asia Pacific (Seoul) (ap-northeast-2)

      • Asia Pacific (Mumbai) (ap-south-1)

      • Asia Pacific (Singapore) (ap-southeast-1)

      • Asia Pacific (Sydney) (ap-southeast-2)

      • South America (Sao Paolo) (sa-east-1)

      • US GovCloud West (Oregon) (us-gov-west-1)

      • China (Beijing) (cn-north-1)

      • China (Ningxia) (cn-northwest-1)

      • Canada (Central) (ca-central-1)

    • Specify the Access key in the appropriate field. You can enter it manually or select it from the drop-down list (if it has been already used).

    • Provide the Secret key to connect to the Amazon DynamoDB database.

    • Press the Test button to verify that you can successfully connect to your Amazon DynamoDB database.

  4. Select the Local option in the Mode drop-down list if you would like to connect to Amazon DynamoDB database in the local mode.

    • Enter the Service URL and Access key manually or select these parameters from the drop-down list (if it has been already used).

    • Provide the Secret key and then press the Test button to verify that you can successfully connect to your Amazon DynamoDB database.
