Connecting to an Azure SQL Data Warehouse

Use the following procedure to connect to your Azure SQL Data Warehouse.

  1. Click the New icon in the Project panel at the top left corner of the window.

  2. Select Azure SQL Data Warehouse in the Platform drop-down list at the top of the dialog box.

  3. Select the Standard option in the Mode drop-down list if you would like to connect to Azure SQL Data Warehouse in the standard mode.

    • Specify the Server name in the appropriate field. You can enter it manually or select it from the drop-down list (if it has been already used).

    • Provide the rest of connection information to the Azure SQL Data Warehouse: Server Port, Database and Username. You can enter these values manually or select them from drop-down lists.

    • Enter Password to complete the information about Azure SQL Data Warehouse connection.

    • Press the Test button to verify that you can successfully connect to your Azure SQL Data Warehouse.

  4. Select the Connection String option in the Mode drop-down list if you would like to connect to Azure SQL Data Warehouse using special connection string.

    • Enter the Connection string manually or select from the drop-down list (if it has been used already).

    • Press the Test button to verify that you can successfully connect to your Azure SQL Data Warehouse.
