DB Best Technologies was established at 2002 in Santa Clara, CA by the team of seasoned database professionals and hard core software geeks.
“DBBest” name stands for “Database Best” – that is our aspiration and acclaim to be #1 in terms of knowledge and professionalism in all aspects of data handling.
Our mission at the time was to create a state of the art product line which helps customers to easily migrate from one database platform to another. This product line was complemented by database migration services delivered to customers on-site and off-site.
Our main product at the time, DB Best Migration Suite, was released in 2003 at PASS in Seattle. It allowed to convert Oracle databases to SQL Server (including conversion of PL/SQL to T-SQL). Hundreds of customers used the tool and after just a few months it became the main migration tool that Microsoft was recommending to their customers.
The product got such a good name that Microsoft acquired DB Best technology in 2005 and used it to build an SSMA (SQL Server Migration Assistant) umbrella of products which now supports multiple platforms.
As you can imagine, it takes a great deal of database expertise to architect and deliver such a complex product. Our database team consists only of senior DBAs and database developers that live and breathe database. They are experts in Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Access etc.
Since 2003 our team of world class DBAs supported and helped to deliver thousands of migration projects. But that was not all. We were brought on to help hundreds of customers in multiple projects ranging from data modeling, performance tuning, upgrades & modernization to Business Intelligence (BI) design and deployment.
